Glebe

Exterior of a century home with a white wooden porch and wood bench.
This substantial early 20th-century Arts and Crafts-style semi in Glebe underwent a thoughtful transformation that balanced heritage character with modern functionality.

While the original structure featured generous proportions, the rear of the home was carefully reduced in size to create a more inviting, free-flowing indoor-outdoor entertaining space—perfectly suited to contemporary family living.
Bedroom with a fireplace, bed and large doors opening to a patio.
Living room with chairs, coffee table and a large window with curtains.
Dining room with large peacock paintings and wooden table and chairs.
Dining room with a large table and a marble fireplace with gold mirror.
Interior a living room with a fireplace, large window and chair.
Living room with a couch, large painting and coffee table.
Laundry room with a marble sink and washer and dryer.
The project began with design input from an architect, helping shape the overall layout and external form. As the project progressed, an interior designer took the lead on the interior palette and finishes, ensuring a cohesive and elegant result.
From custom joinery to curated fixtures and materials, every detail was considered to complement the home’s original character while introducing a refined, modern feel.

The finished home is a beautiful blend of timeless charm and understated luxury, with a lush, private rear retreat offering a tranquil escape from the urban surroundings.
